Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" 66-page concert/event program for the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, held at Festival Field in Newport, R.I. Design by Stacey Williams, Ralph Rinzler, Robert Yellin, Judith Dugan and Jonathan Shahn (cover), program contains numerous photos, essays (including a VERY weird one by Bob Dylan), ads for local and national businesses (Ford, Guild Guitars, Narragansett Beer), record/management companies (Verve/Folkways, Albert Grossman), short bios on performers and a full schedule of events. Participants in this edition of the annual event included: Bob Dylan (with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and Al Kooper), the Chambers Brothers, Lightnin' Hopkins, Jim Kweskin Jug Band, Son House, Reverend Gary Davis, Dick and Mimi Farina, Ian & Sylvia, Peter, Paul & Mary, Gordon Lightfoot, Joan Baez, Donovan and MANY more. (*the Sunday evening (7/25) concert was the infamous "Dylan goes electric" show.) Medium-thin flat index stock interior (thick textured index card stock stock cover) program is in good to (B) condition; the outer cover has a fair amount of pronounced edge toning/discoloration with a with a bit of moisture-related staining/rubbing on the outer right edge of the front cover, a few stray light drip/splatter marks and a 3/8" diagonal tear in the bottom left corner tip that extends int the first few pages, a slight degree of toning/discoloration to the outer edges of all of the interior pages and a pair of slightly loose/rusty staples, otherwise fine- no missing/clipped pages, doodling/scribbling or additional interior wear, this is a complete/full example. VERY COOL original Newport Folk Festival artifact from one of the most infamous shows in 1960's rock history. Here's Bob Dylan performing the classic "Maggie's Farm" from the Sunday show; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8yU8wk67gY
