Photographer unknown, medium-thick glossy stock poster has been professionally restored to excellent (B+) condition; the piece was lightly bleached to remove a fairly decent sized area of moisture discoloration in the upper left corner, plus extensive repairs to edges/corners (a 1&1/4 x 6" diagonal area of missing paper in the top left corner has been replaced, numerous tack/staple holes in the corners have been filled in/sealed, stress creases flattened, 2" of paper fill in the lower left corner... VERY good/professional job on this one, the repairs are all very well camouflaged. Considering this poster was displayed outdoors (winter in Scandanavia can be unforgiving, weather-wise) and taken down at the time by an enthusiastic fan, it has survived remarkably well.
Aside from the wickedly cool graphic of Jimi smoking a cigarette, this poster has a VERY interesting back story; apparently it was after this show that Jimi spent the evening with a young Swedish lady by the name of Eva Sundquist, who in October of 1969 gave birth to Jimi's (alleged) son, James Daniel. Not much is said about James Daniel these days (for numerous reasons which won't be discussed here), but suffice it to say, this night turned out to be pretty significant for Jimi. A VERY, VERY scarce (and historically significant) Hendrix concert poster. Fortunately, the entire show was filmed (Jimi actually dedicates the show "to Eva, who keeps sending us roses, but we never see her...")- you can see it HERE;
