Original 1st printing 12&3/4 x 29&1/8" broadside-style event/workshop poster for a "Festival of Radical Theatre", a five-day program (organized by the Parnassus Institute) sponsored by the Esalen Institute, and held in the Main Auditorium on the campus of San Francisco State College from 9/25-29/1968. Participating "Guerrilla Theatre Groups" included the Bread & Puppet Theatre, El Teatro Campesino and the San Francisco Mime Troupe, in addition to discussions, workshops and more.
Designer unknown, medium-thick parchment stock poster is in very good (B/B+) condition; a set of three horizontal bends/folds (as distributed, folded into 1/4ths), a 2" moisture stain in the bottom center (right above "workshops"), a few tiny creases, a stray nick/tiny tear or two and a hint of edge toning going around the outer margin area, a 3" thin diagonal bend in the top left margin/edge, a pair of nearly-invisible soft tape pulls in the top left/right corners, a few stray soft pinch bends and a tiny bit of pencil scratch on the reverse, otherwise fine.
VERY interesting (and cool-looking) oddball late-'60's workshop/event poster from S.F. State with a great old-timey "broadside" design.
According to the consignor, this event was the very first of its kind held in the United States and featured a reunion of the founders of the Mime Troupe (R.G. Davis), Bread & Puppet (Peter Schumann) and El Teatro Campesino (Luis Valdez) in a program called "Radical Theatre Revisited".
