Original 1st printing 13&1/2 x 23&3/4" concert poster for the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts Festival, a three-day concert/event held at the P.F.A. in San Francisco, CA from 8/30-9/2/1968. No acts are listed on the poster (and it's not known exactly who did and din't show up), but the participants listed in the program include: Grateful Dead, Santana, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Sons of Champlin, San Francisco Mime Troupe, Steve Miller Band, Kaleidoscope, Big Mama Thornton, H.P. Lovecraft, Ace of Cups and many more. Design (lettering) by San Andreas Fault (not credited), medium foil-coated index stock poster is in very good (B/B+) condition; a few small bends/light creases along the outer margins, several tiny stray stress creases scattered around the image area, a soft 2" diagonal bend in the bottom right corner, a tiny roll crease and a few small diagonal bends in the upper left corner, a few ultra-tiny surface dings/thin scratches/tiny scuffs here and there and a couple of light pulls on the reverse, but overall it's a pretty nice example. Neat-looking foil stock "festival" poster from San Francisco, the program listing (same image with show information, in different colors) can be seen in the Art of Rock on page 205 (2.237, 2.238 & 2.239).
