 ITEM DESCRIPTION

 Collection of four (4) original 1st printing hand-addressed mailed 1966 concert flyers for assorted Family Dog Presents concerts held at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA. (4) piece set consists of the following;

 Daily Flash appearing with Country Joe & the Fish on 10/21-22/1966. Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, image # 31 in the Family Dog/Avalon series. OHB-E in the Eric King guide.

 Jim Kweskin Jug Band (with Maria Muldaur) appearing with Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) and the Electric Train on 10/7-8/1966. Art by Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse, image # 29 in the Family Dog/Avalon series OHB-F in the Eric King guide.

 Daily Flash appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service and Country Joe & the Fish on 11/18-19/1966. Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, image # 35 in the Family Dog/Avalon series OHB-B in the Eric King guide.

Quicksilver Messenger Service appearing with Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) and Country Joe & the Fish on 11/25-26/1966. Art by Victor Moscoso, image # 36 in the Family Dog/Avalon series. OHB-D in the Eric King guide.

 All flyers are printed on thin to medium-thin vellum stock and are 8&1/2 x 11", with a pair of horizontal folds (all were folded into 1/3rds for mailing), hand-written (pencil, ball-point pen, marker) addresses (all to the same person) and canceled 1966 postmarks with original 5 cent stamps on the reverse. The conditions range, but they are mostly in the B/B- to B- range, with toning/fading, tack/pin holes, a variety of surface issues, handling, edge wear and other assorted minor to semi-pronounced conditional issues, but the set as a whole is quite presentable.

 A neat little collection of ORIGINAL 1st edition MAILED Avalon flyers, all from VERY early in the F.D. mailing-list campaign.
