Original 1st printing 13&3/4 X 20" concert poster for NYC blues/folk/garage/psychedelic heroes the Blues Project (featuring Al Kooper) appearing at the Town Hall in New York City on 5/5/1967.
Art by Bruce Maddox for Liberty Graphics, this is one of six images created as part of the Liberty Graphics/Cafe Au Go-Go series that were sold (upstairs from the Go-Go on Bleecker Street) at and distributed by "the Infinite Poster". This is the small format version of this poster (there is a larger version with a slightly different (blue/orange/green) color scheme).
Medium flat vellum stock poster is in decent (B/B- to B-) condition; pin/tack/staple holes in all four corners with a small fingernail-clipping sized hole in the lower right margin, a moderate degree of toning with a few soft pin-prick splatter stains in the lower portion of the image area, corner wear/slight rounding in a couple of the corners, light handling and a couple of soft roll bends, a few small edge tears, a series of tape residue marks on the reverse and a bit of light handling wear, otherwise fine.
VERY PSYCHEDELIC (and uncommon) original 1st printing 1967 Blues Project poster from the Liberty Graphics series. This show (the band's "homecoming" and one of Al Kooper's last with the original band) was promoted by Cafe Au Go-Go owner Howard Solomon in conjunction with Verve Records (the band's label).
