Original 1st printing 17&1/2 x 22&1/2" concert poster for Janis Joplin (and Her (Kozmik Blues) Band) appearing with the James Cotton Blues Band at the Fairgrounds Arena in Norman, OK on 10/25/1969. (*show unconfirmed) Design by R. McIntosh and BG Vesper, medium-thin flat vellum stock (almost like thin construction paper) concert poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; a series of thin diagonal "accordion" compression bends in the bottom right corner (covering about 1&1/2" square), a series of five ultra-thin vertical bends extending from the bottom of the "J" and "s" in "Janis" and the "J","p" and "n" in "Joplin" (about 6-7" each), an ultra-tiny puncture hole about 2" to the left of Janis' eye, a few stray tiny stress bends and creases, a couple of small corner bumps, a light strip of toning going around the outer margin area, a dime-sized discoloration in the bottom left corner tip and a well-camouflaged surface mark or two hiding within the image area, otherwise fine. VERY uncommon (and great-looking) late-'69 Janis Joplin concert poster from Oklahoma. This design was used for several Fall 1969 Janis Joplin/James Cotton shows in the Midwest (Wichita, Oklahoma City and Norman), this version does not seem to turn up as frequently as the others.
