Original 1st printing 25&1/4 x 19&3/4" concert poster for "Autumn Equinox", an all-day event featuring the Grateful Dead appearing with Buddy Miles Express* (apparently canceled), the Sons of Champlin, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Mother Earth, Curly Cooke's Hurdy-Gurdy Band, Ace of Cups, the Youngbloods and Phoenix at the Del Mar Fairgrounds (near San Diego), CA on 9/22/1968. Art by Rebecca Galdeano (uncredited), handbill image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 3285 (plate 3.97), this is the full-sized poster. Thick clay-coated (foil? index?-unknown) stock poster is in used (B- to B-/C+) condition; an EXTENSIVE amount of surface wear/creasing, toning, a heavy amount of edge/corner wear (several areas of missing paper, numerous tears), a series of prominent stress creases, bends and assorted surface wear, in addition to the entire reverse being covered with remnants of an old cork board (it was glued to a board at one time)... definitely a candidate for restoration (we can recommend a restorer if desired), but still WAY cool. Conditional issues aside, this is a VERY hard-to-find '68 Grateful Dead concert poster from an obscure Southern California gig.
