Original 1st printing 28&1/2 x 22" concert poster for the Who appearing with the James Cotton Blues Band and Magic Sam on 8/13-15/1968, Creedence Clearwater Revival appearing with It's A Beautiful Day and Albert Collins on 8/16-18/1968, the Grateful Dead appearing with the Kaleidoscope (featuring David Lindley) and Albert Collins on 8/20-22/1968, and Quicksilver Messenger Service appearing with Spooky Tooth and Cold Blood on 8/23-25/1968, all shows held at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, CA. Art by Rick Griffin and Alton Kelley, image is #133 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series. Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in excellent (B+) condition; aside from a 1&1/2 diagonal bend and pinch ding in the bottom left corner tip, a nearly-invisible thin vertical bend (about 5-6" in the left margin, a couple of tiny stray edge dings and a stray fingerprint/pinch bend or two, this is an essentially UNBEATABLE example of the classic "Bloom" image. As an obscure (and interesting) footnote, this design was originally submitted to the Family Dog and had completely different bands in the left/right panels (see FD 130 and 131 for the shows it was originally intended to cover). Chet Helms couldn't afford to have it printed in color, so Griffin took it over to Bill Graham and it was re-purposed for these shows. Clever move!
