Original 1st printing 5&1/2 x 8&1/2" concert handbill for Andy Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable, a multi-media show presented by pop-art icon Andy Warhol, featuring performances by the Velvet Underground and Nico ("Pop Girl of '66"), along with the Mothers of Invention (featuring Frank Zappa) and more, held at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA from 5/27-29/1966.
Art by Wes Wilson, image is # 8 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series, this is the double-sided PINK stock version (OHB-A in the Eric King guide, the reverse side has a review of the show at the Trip in Hollywood by the "Los Angeles Times").
Thin flat stock handbill is in excellent (B+) condition; a minor amount of handling wear (a few stray small pinch dings/light bends) and a trio of ultra-light tape pulls/shadows and a series of ultra-tiny pin-prick paint splatter stains on the reverse, otherwise fine.
An overall FANTASTIC-looking example of this VERY early BG series handbill from the 1966 debut of the Velvet Underground/Andy Warhol E.P.I. scene in San Francisco.
