Original 1st printing 5&1/2 x 4&1/4" concert/event handbill for Vanguard Records' release party for the debut album by Country Joe & the Fish, held at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 5/11/1967. (*the show also featured Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) and Glen McKay's Headlights).
Art by Tom Weller, image is not part of the numbered Bill Graham/Fillmore series (this event falls between the BG 62 and BG 63 shows), and is featured on page 155 of the Art of Rock book (plate 2.83).
Thick vellum card stock flyer is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; a semi-flattened vertical center crease, a series of tiny pin-prick stains in the upper left corner (mostly on the second "i" of "invite"), a pair of tack holes in the top corners, a light amount of toning and a tiny pinch ding or two, otherwise fine.
ULTRA-uncommon mid-1967 non-Bill Graham Fillmore handbill from an invite-only record company-sponsored party.
