 ITEM DESCRIPTION

 Collection of three (3) original 1st printing 1967 thin glossy stock concert handbills from the Crystal Ballroom and Pythian Ballroom, both in Portland, OR.;

 1) a 4&1/4 x 5&1/2" handbill for Buffalo Springfield (featuring Richie Furay, Stephen Stills and Neil Young) appearing with Mr. Lucky and the Gamblers, the Weeds (featuring Fred Cole) and the Warloks on 3/22/1967 and Mr. Lucky (again) appearing with the Wild Untamed Untouchables and the Willamette Street Press on 3/24-25/1967. Art by "L.J." (Lee Jane Calvert, uncredited), this one has a pair of tape remnants on the reverse and in the top/bottom center of thi image, along with a bit of handling, but is otherwise OK. Great-looking early PNW regional Buffalo Springfield handbill with a great mod/hippie design.

 2) a 4&1/2 x 6&1/4" handbill for the New Tweedy Brothers appearing with the U.S. Cadenza and Clockwork Orange at the Encore Ballroom in Seattle, WA on 9/22/1967 and at Pythian Hall in Portland, OR on 9/23/1967 (handbill also advertises "Coming October: Big Brother"). Art by D.D. Mc., this one also has a trio of masking tape remnants on the reverse and a few stray handling dings. Very insidious (and classically creepy) design on this odd little handbill.

 3) a 4&1/4 x 5&1/2" concert handbill for the (Wild) Weeds (featuring Fred Cole) with Mr. Lucky and the Gamblers, the New Tweedy Brothers and the Warloks on 3/3-4/1967, along with advertisements for shows by (ex-Paul Revere guitarist) Drake Levin (and the Golden Hind) and Buffalo Springfield (featuring Richie Furay, Stephen Stills and Neil Young) (no dates on the handbill, but the Drake and B.S. shows took place on 2/14/1967 and 3/22/1967, respectively) all at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR. Art by "DIVC", this one has tape remnants/pulls on the reverse, a bit of creasing/handling and a few small surface scuffs here and there, otherwise it's pretty nice.

 Very cool little Portland handbill collection! Check out an EXTENSIVE gig list/history of the Crystal Ballroom during the late '60's HERE:
