Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert flyer for the Grateful ("Greatful") Dead appearing with Sopwith Camel at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 8/19-20/1966.

 Thin flat stock flyer is in beautiful near mint (A- to A-/B+) condition; a pair of ultra-soft diagonal bends and a soft pinch ding in the top left corner, a couple of tiny edge/corner bumps and an almost-invisible stress ding going through Frankenstein's face, otherwise fine.

 

 Very crisp/bright example of this early Grateful Dead flyer from the Avalon. Also, this was reportedly the same weekend that Warner Brothers' Joe Smith signed the Dead to their recording contract. Historic!
