Original 1st printing (no credit/Contact Printing) 13&7/8 x 19&7/8" concert poster for Jefferson Airplane appearing with Big Brother & the Holding Company (pre-Janis Joplin) at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 2/19/1966.
Art by Wes Wilson (photo by Edward Curtis, concept by Chet Helms), image ("A Tribal Stomp") is # 1 (the VERY FIRST NUMBERED IMAGE) in the Family Dog/Avalon series.
Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; a semi-pronounced horizontal center fold/crease, a few stray tiny surface scuffs scattered around the outer edges, a couple of soft bends and light wear in the corner tips, a pair of 1/2" edge tears in the lower left margin, a 1" bend under "Saturday", a few edge dings and a hint of toning, otherwise fine. There is ABSOLUTELY NO RESTORATION on this example (and not a single tack or pin hole!).
An overall GREAT-looking ORIGINAL 1966 1ST PRINTING "Tribal Stomp" poster, the first and ONLY time I have ever had the pleasure of offering this iconic piece for sale. MEGA-HISTORIC!!!
