Original 1st printing 5&1/8 x 7&1/8" blank-reverse concert/event card/handbill for the First Annual Detroit Rock & Roll Revival, held at the Michigan State Fairgrounds on 5/30-31/1969. Acts listed include: MC5, Chuck Berry, Sun Ra, Dr. John the Night Tripper, Johnny Winter, the (Psychedelic) Stooges (featuring Iggy Pop), Lyman Woodard Trio, Red, White & Blues Band, David Peel & the Lower East Side, Third Power, Savage Grace, Teegarden & Vanwinkle, Terry Reid, the Amboy Dukes (with Ted Nugent), SRC, Frost, the James Gang (with Joe Walsh), the Rationals, Up, New York Rock & Roll Ensemble, Wilson Mower Pursuit and more. Art by Gary Grimshaw, image (poster) is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 298 (plate 3.138). Medium-thick glossy-coated index stock card is in excellent (B+) condition; with the exception of a bit of off-register printing and a hint of surface scuffing (both common issues with this card), a tiny pencil scratch on the reverse and a hint of handling/edge wear, this example can't be beat. One of the harder-to-find late period Russ Gibb cards.
