Original 1st printing 5&1/4 x 10&1/2" concert/event handbill for the 7/15-16/1967 KFRC Fantasy Fair and Magic Mountain Music Festival, held at Mount Tamalpais Amphitheater in Marin, CA.
Two-day event (2 weeks before Monterey Pop) handbill lists performances by the Miracles, the Blues Magoos, the Byrds, Wilson Pickett, the Seeds, the Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Country Joe & the Fish, the Grass Roots, Hugh Masakela, Tim Hardin, Mojo Men, Moby Grape, Tim Buckley, Kim Weston, the Sparrow, Roger Collins, P.F. Sloan, the Merry-Go-Round the Loading Zone, Smokey & His Sister and Every Mother's Son. (*not all of the acts listed actually played, and there were several bands not on the handbill that did appear- Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band, for one)
Artist unknown, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 227 (plate 2.320).
Thin flat stock handbill is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; a semi-flattened horizontal fold going across the center of the piece, a few soft handling dings/subtle pinch bends here and there (mostly along the top edge and in the upper left quadrant), plus a couple of soft stains on the reverse (they don't bleed through the paper), otherwise fine.
VERY neat little original 1967 handbill from one of the earliest "hippie" music festivals. Check out some great photos from the event HERE;
