Original 1st (clear "Bindweed Press" credit) printing 14&1/4 x 19&7/8" concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin -her debut performances with the band) appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on 6/24-25/1966.
Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, image ("Zig-Zag") is # 14 in the Family Dog/Avalon series. Medium flat vellum stock poster is in decent (B/B- to B-) condition; a set of tack holes (all four corners), a 2" hard diagonal bend in the upper right margin/corner, a small edge tear (1/4") in the lower right center margin, a series of stray handling/stress dings and tiny surface scuffs, a fair amount of browning/discoloration along the left/bottom borders (this may be able to be bleached out), a 1" bend in the bottom left corner tip, a 1/2" bend in the top left corner tip and a few loose pin-prick age spots here and there, otherwise fine.
While this example isn't without its flaws, a relatively minor amount of restoration work could bring it back up to a B/B+ condition or better. A very charming-looking (if somewhat used) example of this CLASSIC early Avalon image.
