Original 1st printing 21&3/4 x 26&1/4" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with the Sons of Champlin and Initial Shock at the Avalon Ballroom In San Francisco, CA from 1/24-26/1969.
Art by Rick Griffin, image ("Aoxoamoxoa") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 109 (plate 2.24).
Medium glossy-coated index stock poster is in decent/used (B-) condition; tack/pin holes in all four corners with a small wedge tear (1/4" square) in the top right corner tip, bits of clear tape/residue in the bottom corners, a moderate amount of edge/corner creasing and handling wear, several stray thin stress bends, a few scattered tiny surface stains, a small surface tear in the lower left corner, some writing, pulls and moisture staining on the reverse... this one has pretty obviously been around the block a few times, HOWEVER- it is still all there and actually wouldn't look half-bad in a nice frame.
A charming old (if a bit used) 1st printing example of the Griffin Aoxomoxoa Dead poster, perfect for the budget-conscious or novice collector. Check out the 1/26 show (another Charlie Miller transfer) HERE:
