 ITEM DESCRIPTION

 Original 1st printing 3&1/2 x 5&1/2" boxing-style concert/event handbill/card for the 6/30-7/1/1961 Newport Jazz Festival, held at Festival Field in Newport, RI.

 The lineup included an AMAZING selection of performers over the four-day event; Louis Armstrong, Maynard Ferguson, Cannonball Adderly, Dave Brubeck, Carmen McRae, Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, Ramsey Lewis (6/30), Count Basie, Chico Hamilton, John Coltrane, Horace Silver, the Gloria Lynne Jazztet, Bill Henderson and Bob Hope (7/1), Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz, Sarah Vaughan, Art Blakey, James Moody, George Shearing, Eddie Harris (7/2) and Judy Garland, Duke Ellington, Miriam Makeba, Slide Hampton, Cal Tjader, Oscar Peterson, Quincy Jones and Mel Torme (7/3)

 Thin flat index stock handbill is in good/very good (B to B/B+) condition; a 1" area of staining (a little green smudge) just to the right of "Hope", a 1/4" tear and a small horizontal bend in the lower right margin and a few tiny handling/stress dings here and there, otherwise fine.

 VERY cool early Newport Jazz handout card with an unbeatable lineup of talent. Check out 'Trane's set HERE;
