Original 1st printing/final state version (with silver-ink overprint) 15&1/2 x 28&3/8" concert poster for the "Fire Dance" benefit (for poster artist Alton Kelley, whose studio had burned down) featuring the Steve Miller Band, the Charlatans and Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks appearing together at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on 6/12/1968 (*show was rescheduled from 5/8/1968 and was originally supposed to have included Jefferson Airplane, who dropped out).
Art by Stanley Mouse & Alton Kelley, image (uncut proof sheet) is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 182 (plate 2.173).
Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; a light amount of toning, tack holes/creasing in each of the four corners, a few scattered semi-soft bends, a hard 3-4" horizontal bend in the right center margin, numerous handling dings/stress bends/tiny surface stains scattered throughout the piece, a bit of minor edge wear and some tape remnants on the reverse, otherwise fine.
While the conditional issues on this example are pretty evident, they are made up for by the ROCK-SOLID provenance on the piece. This one actually came from one of the principal members of the 1968 pre-Bill Graham Carousel Ballroom sound crew.
