Pair of original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" (*appx.) concert flyers for Jefferson Airplane appearing with the Great Society (featuring Grace Slick) at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on 7/22-23/1966. Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley (with the central image borrowed from Franz (Von) Stuck), image is # 17 in the Family Dog/Avalon series, set includes one each of the purple ink on white stock (OHB-A) and red/purple ink on pink stock (OHB-C) versions. Thin flat stock flyers (the OHB-C is quite a bit thinner than the OHB-A) are both in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; both have edge/corner wear (tack/pin holes, tiny wedge tears, old tape marks on the OHB-A, a 1/2" tear in the right center margin of the OHB-C), the OHB-A has a few semi-pronounced water/moisture stains and a hint of toning, both have light handling wear and a few stray surface dings... not perfect, but not too hammered, either. The central images on both flyers are mostly unscathed, the majority of the issues are confined to the margins/corners. A very charming little set of ORIGINAL 1966 Mouse/Kelley-designed FD flyers featuring Grace Slick opening for the very same band she would eventually be fronting (only a few months after this show).
