Original 1st printing 11 x 14" concert poster for Jefferson Airplane appearing with Larry Hankin (from the Committee) at Harmon Gymnasium on the campus of the University of California Berkeley on 10/30/1965 (bassist Jack Casady's debut performance with the Airplane). Designer uncredited (photos by Edmund Shea and Jim Smirich), the image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 172 (plate 2.135). This version does not feature the "Larry Hankin" overlay in the upper left corner. Medium flat vellum stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; a set of tack/staple holes in all four corners with an additional set arranged around the Hankin photo (another piece of paper was tacked over the photo), leaving the area around Hankin's head slightly lighter than the gently toned rest of the poster, along with a stray edge ding or two and a whisper of surface wear, but otherwise the piece looks great. ULTRA-EARLY J.A. concert poster featuring an unusual photo of the pre-Casady lineup (with bassist Bob Harvey second from left, between Jorma and Marty).
