Original 1st printing 6&1/8 x 9&3/4" double-sided concert/event handbill for the 1st Northern California Folk-Rock Festival, held at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose, CA on 5/18-19/1968. Handbill lists performances by Jefferson Airplane, the Doors, Country Joe & the Fish, Taj Mahal, Dirty Blues Band, Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin), the Youngbloods and the Loading Zone. Also appeared (not listed): the Grateful Dead, Crome Syrcus, Trans-Atlantic Railroad and more. The reverse has the KYA-AM "Top 60" chart/survey for the week of May 4-10/1968, along with a programming schedule and a portrait of KYA DJ Chris Edwards. Thin flat stock handbill is in absolutely fantastic near mint (A-) condition; only a hint of handling and a couple of ultra-tiny, nearly invisible moisture spots on the reverse, otherwise it's as crisp as can be. Neat little original Doors/Airplane/Janis/Dead item!
