Original 1st printing 18 x 30" concert/event poster for the 11970 Portland Music & Art Fair, held at the Civic Stadium in Portland, OR on 6/13-14/1970. Design by Michael Strickland (heavily indebted to the Fillmore East marquee-style), the poster lists appearances by Ravi Shankar, Country Joe & the Fish, B.B. King, Albert Collins, the Flying Burrito Brothers, Buddy Miles Express, Little Richard, Love (with Arthur Lee), Illinois Speed Press, Delaney & Bonnie, Bo Diddley, Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Nick Gravenites), Simon Stokes & the Nighthawks, River, Notary Sojac, Eclipse and Roxy. Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; a discolored area of moisture wear/rippling with a few tiny pin-prick mold spots in the bottom left corner (about 3-4" square), a moderate amount of edge/handling wear (assorted scattered small creases and crinkles), a thin stress bend in the right center margin and a few surface scuffs here and there, otherwise fine. Really unusual oddball PNW festival piece with a VERY eclectic/interesting lineup and a cool Fillmore-inspired design.
