Original 1st printing 2nd/final state (White Lake) version 24 x 36&3/4" (large format) concert poster for the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair Aquarian Exposition in White Lake, NY on 8/15-17.1969. Art by (and SIGNED and numbered 41/144 in pencil*) Arnold Skolnick, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 257 (plate 3.1) and advertises performances by Joan Baez (who also SIGNED the poster TWICE in black flair pen), Arlo Guthrie, Tim Hardin, Richie Havens, the Incredible String Band, Bert Sommer, Ravi Shankar, Sly & the Family Stone, Sweetwater (8/15), Canned Heat, Creedence Clearwater (Revival), the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane (with guitar legend Jorma Kaukonen, who also SIGNED the poster in black sharpie), Santana, Quill, Keef Hartley, the Who, Janis Joplin, Mountain, (8/16), the Band, the Jeff Beck Group (backed out), Joe Cocker (and the Grease Band), Blood, Sweat & Tears, Johnny Winter, Crosby, Stills & Nash (with an unadvertised appearance by Neil Young), Iron Butterfly (who were stranded at the airport in NYC after their management made numerous unreasonable demands for private helicopters), Ten Years After and Jimi Hendrix (with Gypsies, Suns and Rainbows). Not listed on the poster (but did perform); Country Joe McDonald (with and without the Fish- Country Joe has additionally SIGNED the poster in black sharpie with a peace sign), the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, John Sebastian and Sha-Na-Na. Medium-thin glossy stock poster is in excellent to near mint (B+ to A-/B+) condition; only a couple of tiny edge nicks, a couple of very thin horizontal bends in the lower right corner and a few stray surface spots keep this one out of the super-mint category, but it's PRETTY DARN CLOSE. A FANTASTIC-looking ARTIST/PERFORMER SIGNED example of the most famous/well-known Rock Festival of all time.... KILLER!
*This example comes from a small stash of 144 original posters that Arnold Skolnick discovered in his studio space many years after the event- he signed and numbered all of them to identify them as a limited "from the artist" edition. The Joan Baez, Country Joe and Jorma signatures were all added later (all have been verified as original and obtained in person by the original owner).
