Original 1st printing 15&7/8 x 22&1/8" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Chuck Berry and Curly Cooke's Hurdy-Gurdy Band at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, CA from 3/29-31/1968. Art by Steve Catron, image ("Acid Dropper" or "Pebble Dropper") is featured in the Art of Rock on page 180 (plate 2.163). Medium flat index stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; a set of pin/staple holes (all four corners), light edge wear/creasing (a few small pinch dings and tiny bends up and down the left/right margins), a 1&1/2" bend in the top right corner, a pronounced curl to the paper (it was rolled up for many years) and a few very tiny (and well-camouflaged) stress bends, otherwise fine. An overall GREAT-looking example of this iconic 1968 Grateful Dead image. As a note of provenance, this example comes from one of the people involved in the creation/development of the Carousel Ballroom... absolutely impeccable pedigree on this poster.
