Original 1st printing 21&3/4 x 26&1/4" concert poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with the Sons of Champlin and Initial Shock at the Avalon Ballroom In San Francisco, CA from 1/24-26/1969. Art by Rick Griffin, image ("Aoxoamoxoa") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 109 (plate 2.24). Medium glossy-coated index stock poster is in decent (B/B- to B-) condition; tack holes in all four corners and in the left/right center margins, a few thin horizontal roll bends around the area of the lettering, light to moderate edge/corner creasing, a few stray handling/stress bends, a few tiny surface stains (mostly along the bottom edge) and a pronounced curl to the paper (it was rolled up for many years), otherwise fine. A fine-looking (if used) 1st printing example of the Aoxomoxoa, this one has the added bonus of coming right from the collection of a long-time Grateful Dead crew member.
