Pair of original 1st printing/official promoter-issued 2nd printing concert posters for rock & roll pioneer Bo Diddley appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA. Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley (both of whom have HAND-SIGNED the second printing example in pencil), image ("His Master's Voice") # 18 in the Family Dog/Avalon series- additionally, these posters came directly from the collection of Santana drummer Michael Shrieve (a signed COA will be included). The 13&7/8 x 20" 1st printing edition is on thin flat/pulpy stock and is in used (B-/C+) condition; a 1&3/4" chunk of missing paper in the bottom right corner, a 1" area of missing paper in the top left corner, scattered creases, handling wear, edge tattering/staining along the right margin, tack holes in the other corners... this one was quite obviously pulled down by Michael at the time and shows all the signs of a robust life. The second printing (14&1/4 x 19&5/8", on extra-thick vellum stock) is in much better shape- there's a bit of minor edge/surface wear and a well-camouflaged diagonal bend in the upper left corner, this one rates out to about a B+ condition overall... and, as previously mentioned, it has been SIGNED by Mouse AND Kelley. A REALLY unique pair of FD posters right from the collection of a vital participant in the San Francisco scene.
