Original 1st printing 10&3/4 x 27&1/2" concert/event poster for the 2nd (Annual) Philadelphia Folk Festival, held at Wilson Farm in Paoli, PA from 9/6-8/1963. Design by Reese and Tomasas (featuring the now-famous banjo logo by Ellick), participants included: Theodore Bikel, Elizabeth Cotton, Mississipi John Hurt, Jimmy Martin (& His Sunny Mountain Boys & Girls), Jean Redpath, Almeda Riddle & Hobart Smith, Mike Seeger (New Lost City Ramblers) and Dave Van Ronk (these are the "headliners" for the Saturday concert) and many more. Extra-thin flat index stock poster is in excellent to near mint (B+) condition; a set of three (3) horizontal factory folds (as issued- poster was mailed out), few light traces of surface wear (mostly along the crease lines), light handling and a couple of tiny edge tears, otherwise a fantastic-looking example of this VERY EARLY east coast Folk Music event poster. The Philadelphia Folk Festival actually continues to this very day; http://www.pfs.org/folk-festival
