 ITEM DESCRIPTION

Original 1st printing 5&1/2 x 8&3/8" thin paper double-sided handbill for the 9/11-11/28/1970 schedule of shows at Bill Graham's Fillmore East in New York City; acts listed include: the Byrds with Delaney & Bonnie and Friends and Great Jones (9/11-12), the Grateful Dead with New Riders of the Purple Sage (9/17-20), the Steve Miller Band with Mungo Jerry and Clouds (featuring Billy Cobham, 9/25-26), Pink Floyd (9/27), Johnny Winter with Buddy Miles and Tin House (11/2-3), John Mayall with It's A Beautiful Day and the Flock (10/9-10), the Rock Relics Auction (10/12, this event is also highlighted on the reverse- see photo), B.B. King with the Butterfield Blues Band and the Elvin Bishop Group (10/16-17), Derek & the Dominoes (with Eric Clapton) along with Ballin' Jack and Juicy Lucy (10-23-24), Lee Michaels (10/30-31), Mountain (11/6-7), the Small Faces with Rod Stewart (11/10), Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention (11/13-14), Leon Russell and Elton John (11/20-21) and Jefferson Airplane with the Buddy Guy-Junior Wells Band (11/25, 27-28). Design by Jerry Pompili, image is an un-numbered part of the Bill Graham/Fillmore East series; thin flat stock handbill is in excellent (B+) condition; a nearly-invisible horizontal center fold, a couple of minor edge nicks along the left margin, a few scattered tiny handling dings and a stray surface pit or two, otherwise fine. INCREDIBLE lineup of shows on this one, featuring some massive (Eric Clapton) and soon-to-be massive British stars (Floyd, Elton John, Rod Stewart) making early NYC appearances.
