FD 19 Bo Diddley Big Brother Mouse/Kelley 1966 Avalon Poster

Original 1st printing 19&7/8 x 8&3/4" concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) and the Oxford Circle on 8/5/1966 and rock & roll pioneer Bo Diddley with the Sons of Adam on 8/6/1966, both shows held at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA. Art by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, image ("Dollar Bill") is # 19 in the Family Dog/Avalon series. Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster has been professionally restored to very good (B/B+) condition; tack/pin holes have been filled in all four corners along with a few around the edges, a couple of tears around the outer margins have been repaired and the piece has been washed to lift out a few old stains, however there remains a tiny black smudge on the "g" of "Dog", along with a series of ink-wipe stains on the reverse, some of them peeking through the central image (a subtle pink tone) and a series of small to medium-sized stress creases/small bends, but overall it is a very decent-looking example of one of the harder-to-find early 1st printing FD/Mouse/Kelley posters. These don't turn up nearly as often as they used to.
