Original 1st printing 17&1/2 x 22&1/2" concert poster and blue-ink only test proof for Janis Joplin (and Her (Kozmik Blues) Band) and the James Cotton Blues Band appearing at the Fairgrounds Arena in Norman, OK on 10/25/1969. Design by R. McIntosh and BG Vesper, medium-thin flat vellum stock (almost like thin construction paper) concert poster is in very good (B/B+) condition; a light to moderate amount of scattered surface wear (tiny stains, a red smudge just to left of "Fairgrounds Arena", a 1" brown drip stain about 2" below Janis' rings, a tiny stain in the bottom margin), a slight amount of edge/corner wear (a few tiny nicks/edge tears, a couple of small areas of crinkling, tiny corner bends), light handling and a slight moisture ripple, but it actually looks great in the context of how scarce/unusual it is. The accompanying proof sheet (missing the black pass of ink) has a few semi-pronounced diagonal bends, light handling and a few edge tears, but is otherwise fine (and likely the only one saved). While I have seen other versions of this poster (the same design was used for several shows in the mid-west) come up from time to time, I've NEVER seen this version. SUPER-COOL pair of low-run regional '69 Janis concert items.
