Original 1st printing 14&3/8 x 20" concert poster for the Grateful Dead with John Hammond and his Screaming Nighthawks and Robert Baker on 3/24-25/1967 and with Quicksilver Messenger Service on 3/26/1967, all shows at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA. Art by Rick Griffin, image is # 54 in the Family Dog/Avalon series. Medium flat index stock poster is in good (B to B/B-) condition; pin holes in the top corners and in the bottom margin, a few scattered surface stains and dings, a couple of tiny razor slices in the bottom right corner/edge (the largest one is about 3/4" in the right margin), a hint of toning and a trio of 9-10" thin tape pulls on the reverse... it actually presents itself in a very charming old-timey manner. Not perfect, but not too shabby for a 1st printing Rick Griffin Grateful Dead poster from 1967. According to a VERY well-researched account, none other than Eric Burdon & the Animals stopped by to play a surprise set on Sunday the 26th- read all about it HERE:
