Original 1st printing 17&1/4 x 22&1/8" concert poster for Jefferson Airplane appearing with the "E-Types" and William Penn& His Pals at the San Jose (CA) Civic Auditorium on 6/4/1966. Designer unknown (presumably whoever started Sparta Graphics), medium-thick flat index stock poster is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; there's an almost dime-sized hole at the top center (above the second "e" of "Jefferson") with a small tear that extends to the top edge, along with a similar-sized chunk out of the upper right margin, a few edge creases and tiny tears along the left margin, a couple of scattered pin holes, a series of semi-pronounced roll bends in the lower right margin, a 2" diagonal bend in the lower right corner, light handling and a few small surface smudges... this one was quite obviously pulled down from public display, but it actually looks quite charming and is a VERY uncommon and early Airplane poster. This was one of the first JA posters to be reprinted on a large scale (the seconds and thirds with red and purple lettering and a re-designed bottom half were out by 1967). Presumably, the first run of this poster was quite low... this is only the second one of these I've seen in 19 years.
