Original 1st printing 15&3/4 x 29" concert/event poster for the "Mar Y Sol Pop Festival" held in Manati, Puerto Rico on 4/1-3/1972. Design by Phoenix, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 391 (plate 4.181) and advertises performances by Alice Cooper, the Allman Brothers Band, B.B. King, Black Sabbath, Bloodrock, Dave Brubeck and Gerry Mulligan, Dr. John, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, the Faces (Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Kenney Jones, Ian MacLagan and Ronnie Lane), Fleetwood Mac, the J. Geils Band, Goose Creek Symphony, Malo, Osibisa, Pot Liquor, Roberta Flack and Savoy Brown. Not listed on the poster (but did perform); Billy Joel, Mahavishnu Orchestra, David Peel, Jonathan Edwards, Nitzinger, Cactus, Long John Baldry and more. Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in fantastic near mint (A-/B+) condition; aside from a couple of very soft horizontal roll bends in the upper right margin, it's as crisp/bright as they come. One of the harder-to-find festival posters from the AOR book, this is the first one of these I've come across. Very cool piece, check out this site (complete with photos) detailing the festival;
