Original 1st printing 14&1/4 x 20" concert poster (OP-1 in the Eric King guide, thick stock) for the Grateful Dead with Quicksilver Messenger Service and the New Tweedy Brothers at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on 6/10-11/1966. Art by Wes Wilson, image ("The Quick & the Dead") is # 12 in the Family Dog/Avalon series and marks the first time a skeleton was used to advertise a Dead show. Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; a set of tack holes (all four corners), several handling marks/small bends in the top/bottom margins, minor edge/corner creasing and light toning, a few stray tiny pinch bends/light surface stains here and there a large abstract doodle (drawn in flair pen and marker) on the reverse (see photo- luckily, it doesn't show through to the front), otherwise fine. A very acceptable-looking example of this VERY early Family Dog Grateful Dead poster.
