Original 1st printing 14 x 19&1/4" concert poster for Big Brother & the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin)*, along with H.P. Lovecraft and the Clara Ward Singers at the Carousel Ballroom In San Francisco, CA on 5/24-26/1968. Art by the Crazy Arab, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 180 (plate 2.164). Medium-thin flat index stock poster is in excellent to near mint (B+ to B+/A-) condition; aside from a couple of tiny stains in the just below Arab's signature and in the ticket outlet area (less than 1" each), a slight pinch bend above "Carousel", a few stray edge dings and a hint of handling, it's a fantastic-looking example of this oft-requested Carousel poster WITHOUT the usual "mark-out" that most of them have.

 

*Big Brother canceled and a number of posters were distributed with the band's name crossed out with different colored magic markers. They were replaced on the bill by Mad River (thanks to Ross for the info!)
