Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert flyer for the Grateful Dead at the Milwaukee (WI) Performing Arts center on 10/23-24/1972. Design by the Cartoon Factory, this is the 1st PRINTING yellow stock version (there is also a reprinted blue stock version- see photo, explanation below). Thin flat stock flyer is in near mint to excellent (A-/B+ to B+) condition; just a slight degree of handling wear, a trace of edge creasing, a tiny tear in the top edge and a tiny pencil scratch on the reverse, otherwise fine. Real unusual low-run regional Dead flyer, interestingly enough there is a reprint/bootleg version which was commonly believed to be original until the authenticity of this one came up. Thanks to a very helpful couple of collectors, I managed to track down a blue stock example to compare it to this one. As it turns out, there was a very obvious giveaway on the blue stock version that determined which one was the real one and which one was the repro- if you look closely, the left side of the "G" of "Grateful" has the left edge of the letter completely sliced off with about a 1/8-1/6" space between the edge of the letter and the edge of the paper, indicating where the copier had cut a little too close to the edge to get the entire letter onto the paper. There are also a bunch of other differences that stand out if you have both colors, but the sliced "G" on the blue stock is the most obvious "Dead Giveaway" (SORRY, I couldn't resist the stupid joke)... OK! So now that we have it all straightened out, check out the 10/24 set (a Charlie Miller transfer) HERE: http://archive.org/details/gd1972-10-23.sonyecm250.unknown.miller.98958.sbeok.flac16
