Original 1st printing 11 x 17" benefit* concert poster for the Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia and Mickey Hart performing in an improvisational duo format, along with the Mantric Sun Band and the Sat Nam Singers at the Palace of Fine Arts Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on 1/28/1973. Photo by Bob Seidemann, image is featured in the Art of Rock on page 338 (plate 4.22). Medium-thin flat index stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; a semi-flattened horizontal center crease, a 1/2" tear in the top margin above Jerry's head, a couple of smaller edge tears in the bottom margin, a 1" tear in the lower left corner, near the ticket outlet, a set of staple/pin holes (all four corners), a few small edge nicks running along the left/right margins, light handling/subtle creasing and a small hand-written notation on the reverse (in ballpoint pen)from the original owner- a well-known Grateful Dead family member (see below), otherwise fine. Definitely one of the weirder/more unusual Dead-related pieces, the story behind this one on page 116 of Jerilyn Brandelius' 1990 "Grateful Dead Family Album"; *"Around this time a couple of gigs occurred at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. One was a Seastones show with Phil Lesh and Ned Lagin's electronic music. Another was a benefit for San San Tokh's ashram with Jerry and Mickey. They hadn't seen each other in about a year. Mickey decided to dress up all in white and completely shave off his beard. Garcia, unbeknownst to Mickey, had gotten up, decided to dress all in black and shave his face. They met at the photo session and were totally blown away" -Jerilyn"
