FD 23/31 Mouse/Kelley Poster Pair (2) Beefheart/Daily Flash

Pair of original 1st printing Mouse/Kelley-designed concert posters for a pair of Family Dog-produced 1966 shows at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA; the first is a 14&1/8 x 20" concert poster for Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band with the Charlatans on 8/26-27/1966, image # 23 in the Family Dog/Avalon series. Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; about 7 scattered tack holes around the outer edges and one or two (well hidden) within the image area, a fingerprint mark just to the left of the "A" of "Avalon", light toning, a minor amount of edge/corner/surface wear and a pair of tiny pen/pencil scratches on the reverse, otherwise fine. The other is a 14&1/4 x 20" medium-thick flat vellum stock poster for the Daily Flash and Country Joe & the Fish on 10/21-22/1966, image #31 in the series. This one is in decent/OK (B-) condition; a fairly heavy amount of black paint splatter across the entire image, numerous scattered staple/tack holes (all four corners plus three or four more in various random points around the image), light handling wear (a few small bends/stress creases), a bit of missing paper in the top left corner and a couple of edge nicks, but is otherwise not too bad. Both of these posters come from the collection of Sanford Tucker, proprietor of the legendary "Sanford's" and "Velvet Underground" hip clothing boutiques of San Francisco.
