Original 1st printing 5&3/4 x 8&1/2" concert handbill for the Grateful Dead with Quicksilver Messenger Service and the New Tweedy Brothers at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on 6/10-11/1966. Art by Wes Wilson, image ("The Quick & the Dead") is number 12 in the Family Dog/Avalon series and marks the first time a skeleton was used to advertise a Dead show. Medium-thin flat stock handbill is in excellent to near mint (B+ to B+/A-) condition; just a tiny 1/8" edge tear with a 1/4" bend in the left center margin (next to the "J" of "June"), a nearly invisible 3/4" pinch bend above the FD logo and a whisper of handling (a stray edge ding/corner bump or two), otherwise a stunningly beautiful example of this VERY early Family Dog Grateful Dead handbill. "Collector's choice", if you will....
