Original 1st printing 14 x 20" concert poster for the Grateful Dead in their New York City debut at the Cafe Au Go-Go in Greenwich Village from 6/1-10/1967 (Deadbase lists the dates as June 6-11). Art by Daniel Fennell, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 305 (plate 3.163). Medium-thick flat vellum stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; a set of tack holes (all four corners), light diagonal creasing in the lower left corner, a light amount of edge wear (a few tiny dings/nicks), a few scattered miniscule horizontal stress creases (very well hidden), light handling wear and a nearly invisible ultra-soft diagonal bend running from the top center to about 3-4" up from the lower right corner, otherwise fine. An oft-requested Grateful Dead image from the AOR, another example of this poster recently fetched over 4K in a recent sale. The interior gatefold of the Dead's 1974 "Steal Your Face" album has a 1967 photo of the band standing in front of a wall in NYC plastered with this very same poster.
