Original 1st printing 23&1/8 x 29" concert/event poster for "Orange Groove", a series of concerts held at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, CA in the fall of 1968*.
Art by Bob Fried, image (regular edition/no white border) is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 273 (plate 3.64); this is the UNCUT version with an additional credit in the lower right margin ("The Food", c. 1968 no. 6 (apparently this is the sixth image in the series), approximately 1" of extra white border around all four sides and a set of thin vertical printer's strike marks.
Medium-thick glossy-coated index stock poster is in good to very good (B to B/B+) condition; there is a bit of fading to the yellow pass of ink, which causes the half-tones (mostly the green and orange, in this case) to lighten a bit, although it isn't too severe... Additionally, there are a set of staple hole indentations in the top center margin, a few light to semi-pronounced corner/edge bends, a touch of corner-tip wear, a pair of tiny edge tears and a few soft handling dings and pin-prick surface indentations scattered around the image area, otherwise fine.
BEAUTIFUL late-'68 Bob Fried image from the Art of Rock book, I just recently found out who was actually scheduled to perform at this event (*see photo- thanks to Posterscene for the scan). A KILLER Southern California piece that doesn't show up very frequently.
