Original 1st printing 17&1/8 x 24" (*bottom margin has been trimmed) concert/event poster for the Strawberry Fields Festival, held at Mosport Park, near Toronto, Ontario, Canada from 8/7-9/1970. Art by Francoli, acts listed include: Chip Monck (Voice of Woodstock)*, Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, Cactus, John Mills Cockell and Syrinx (Magic Moog Synthesizer), Leonard Cohen*, Eric Burdon & War, Grand Funk Railroad, Fat, Hog Heaven, Jethro Tull, King Biscuit Boy, Led Zeppelin*, Luke & the Apostles, Melanie, Mountain, Procol Harum, Sly & the Family Stone, Ten Years After, the Youngbloods, "And MORE!". *-did not appear. There are at least TWO different versions of this poster, this is the BLACK STOCK version. Thick glossy-coated index stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; aside from the aforementioned edge trimming (apparently to fit into a frame), there is a slight amount of moisture warping to the paper, a series of tiny thin surface scratches going around the outer margin area (from the frame), a few tiny pin-prick smudges and scuffs hiding around the image area, a couple of thin hairline creases/cracks in the lower left margin/corner and around "Sun & Sound", a fair amount of toning on the reverse (a horizontal pattern from what looks like a corrugated backing) and a couple of stray edge nicks, otherwise fine... still a very presentable example overall. Very cool-looking oddball 1970 festival poster from a fairly obscure Canadian event. While not all of the acts listed on the poster appeared (specifically Led Zeppelin- who according to one source were never even booked!), several acts DID appear, including Jethro Tull, Grand Funk Railroad, and most famously, Sly & the Family Stone, who closed out the event with an epic 5:30 AM set.
