Original 1st printing 4&3/8 x 7&1/8" postcard-backed (black Grande Ballroom "Place Stamp Here" imprint) concert handbill for the Jimi Hendrix Experience appearing with the Soft Machine, MC5 and the Rationals at the Masonic Temple in Detroit, MI on 2/23/1968. Art by Gary Grimshaw, image is # 68 in the Russ Gibb Presents/Grande series (OPC-C in the Eric King guide and is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 299 (plate 3.139). Medium-thin flat vellum stock postcard is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; the main issue on this example is that someone has outlined (in VERY thin pen) all of the yellow highlights in the green/yellow field behind Jimi- it's very well-integrated into the image area, so it's not immediately apparent upon first glance, but it's there; aside from that there is a hint of handling wear (right center margin), a tiny bend in the bottom right corner tip and a small smudge on the reverse, but other than that it is in really nice condition. Hand-embellishment aside, the card is still in pretty good physical shape and not all that easy to find. KILLER original early-'68 Hendrix concert artifact from Michigan. photo: c. Leni Sinclair 1968
