Original 1st printing 16 x 20" (trimmed down on all four borders from the original size of 17&1/2 x 22&1/2" to fit into a frame) concert poster for local Detroit blues-rockers the Prime Movers Blues Band (featuring Jim "Iggy Pop" Osterberg on drums) appearing with the "Avant-Rock" of the MC5 at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, MI from 10/21-22/1966. Art by Gary Grimshaw (from a photo by Ralph Morse), image ("Zebra Man") is # 3 in the Russ Gibb Presents/Grande series. Medium flat vellum stock poster is in used (C+) condition; aside from the aforementioned edge trimming, there is an approximately 6" thin strip of fossilized masking tape along the top border, a few small tears and a tiny nip/wedge of paper (about 1/4" square) out of the top margin, a bit of moisture warp to the paper, light toning, a few small pin-prick surface indentations and thin stress bends scattered around the image area and other assorted little bits of wear here and there... you get the idea. This example was a recent "barn find", as you can see in the photo. CONDITIONAL ISSUES ASIDE, this is a great introductory piece for someone who doesn't want to shell out $3,000+ for a nice-condition copy (IF you can even find one). Stick in a frame and enjoy it for what it is... a very charming affordable psychedelic concert artifact. KILLER Grimshaw image, either way!
