Original 1st printing 8&1/2 x 11" concert/event flyer for "A Pirate's Ball", a free Hells Angels-sponsored boat cruise (aboard the "S.S. Bay Belle") around New York City on 9/5/1973, featuring Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders (with John Kahn and Bill Kreutzmann) appearing with Elephant's Memory, Mission Mountain Wood Band and Bo Diddley. ( Designer unknown, an alternate image (there are several) is featured in the Art of Rock on page 403 (plate 4.218). Thin flat semi-textured stock flyer is in good (B) condition; there is a small diagonal corner wedge of paper missing from the top right corner/edge, along with tack/pin holes in the other three corners, along with the top/bottom center margins, plus a small stain and pair of tiny wedge-pull holes, a slightly rounded/nipped top left corner tip, a light amount of handling wear, a pair of soft vertical bends going down the middle of the image area and a series of tiny creases/edge tears along the top margin, otherwise fine. Fairly basic, but HISTORIC early-'70's Jerry Garcia piece, as this event featured the very first public appearance of Jerry's Doug Irwin-designed "Wolf" guitar".
