Original 1st printing 12&7/8 x 19&3/4" (appx.- top margin is irregularly trimmed, possibly by the printer) concert/event poster for beat poet Allen Ginsberg and Swami Bhaktivendanta appearing along with the Grateful Dead, Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) and Moby Grape in a benefit* performance (*for the San Francisco Krishna Temple), held at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, CA on 1/29/1967.
Designer unknown, image ("Krishna Consciousness Comes West") is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 107 (plate 2.18).
Medium flat vellum stock poster is in excellent (B+) condition; there are tiny pin holes in the top left/right corners, a trace of handling/edge wear (a tiny crease and a couple of nearly-invisible pencil scratches in the right margin, a tiny pin-prick stain in the left center margin and a hint of curling to the paper, otherwise fine.
An overall superb-looking example of this early 1967 Avalon benefit concert poster from the AOR.
