Original 1st printing 12&3/4 x 24&3/4" concert poster for "Night of the Hurricane", a benefit concert for ex-boxer Rubin "Hurricane" Carter, held at the Astrodome in Houston, TX on 1/25/1976.
The event was headlined by Bob Dylan and the Rolling Thunder Revue (featuring Bob Neuwirth, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Roger McGuinn and Mick Ronson), and also featured appearances by Stevie Wonder, Isaac Hayes, Dr. John, Ringo Starr, Stephen Stills, Carlos Santana and Shawn Phillips.
Art by (and SIGNED and numbered 38/100 in pencil by) Frank(o) Carson, image is featured in "The Art of Rock" on page 363 (plate 4.160).
Medium-thick high-gloss coated index stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there are small triangular wedges of clear tape in the corners, a 1" tear in the upper left margin (sealed on the reverse with clear tape), a few stray edge/corner nicks, a couple of soft pinch bends hiding within the image area, a bit of handling wear along the bottom edge and a nearly-invisible diagonal bend in the upper margin area, otherwise fine.
Highly uncommon mid-'70's Bob Dylan concert image from the "Art of Rock", apparently due to the fact that Dylan didn't like his portrait, VERY few of these posters were released. Stream the show HERE:
