Official promoter-issued 3rd printing 14 x 21&3/8" 2-color test proof concert poster for Donovan appearing at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA on 9/22/1967.
Art by Bonnie MacLean, image is # 86 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series, this is a RED/YELLOW ONLY printer's test proof/press wipe (*hand-embellished- see below).
Medium-thick glossy-coated index stock poster is in good/decent (B to B/B-) condition; as mentioned above, this example has been hand- embellished (rather cleverly by an unknown artist) with an artfully-rendered (in faded black marker) cartoon cow (looks a little like Elsie, the Borden Dairy mascot) in the center oval where the Donovan photo would normally be- a pretty tight drawing, to be honest. Additionally, there is a bit of minor fading to the yellow pass of ink, a few thin stress bends, tiny pin holes and pin-prick surface stains hiding within the image area, light handling wear, a touch of moisture warping to the paper and a few thin bends scattered around the outer margin area... still pretty decent overall.
Very amusing and unique Fillmore item! If you appreciate obscure and out-there BG oddities, then this is the poster for you.
